RowCatcher is a mobile, web and cloud solution that allows coaches create and distribute training plans and Athletes use their smartphones during training to record their actual training details including speed, stroke rate, heart rate, distances, times and attributes about technique and their daily diary entries. Coaches typically create training plans using a variety of different media types ranging from cigarette packs to spreadsheets to blogs. The tools for distribution of training plans vary from the club noticeboard to email. These methods are not optimal for a document that can, and should be, dynamic and adaptable. In addition, coaches rarely have the ability to easily match what they have measured as performance to the training plan. Collating performance data from stopwatches and scraps of paper is at best time-consuming for our most diligent coaches. In many cases collating and plotting is rarely done. RowCatcher is targeted to solving this problem for rowing coaches and athletes by keeping both plan and performance data in electronic format at all times and correlating this data automatically thereby saving hours of time for coaches and also giving more precision.
